Quality Botanicals’ business is founded on providing herbs and botanicals as they were used before the western dietary supplement industry took hold of the market. Many herbs used in East Asian, Indian, and other traditional medicine systems are customarily harvested wild and used with minimal processing. They are graded based on age, strain, geographical origin, growth features, and other such characteristics rather than slick pharmaceutical-like packaging or unnecessary “standardization.”
Accordingly, our small multilingual team works in-person to form partnerships with legitimate wild-harvesters and growers, primarily in China, Japan, and Mongolia. Our guiding principle is full knowledge and oversight of our supply chains – from the time a batch is harvested from a forest, grassland, or farm to the time it is packaged and shipped, we know where it has been and what has (and has not) been done to it. In this way we ensure that pesticides, preservatives, additives, and chemical fertilizers are never used in production. By avoiding massive China-based trading companies that supply much of the herbal supplements on the market, we can both eliminate risk of contaminated batches and provide more reasonable prices for genuinely premium herbs.
